The only question you asked was 'right?' The other words were an accusational statement.
Reminds me of conversations with my son. When he wants to go somewhere, he is to ask my permission.
This is an example of him asking permission:
Mom, John and I are going to the park after school tomorrow, ok?
I tell him that's not asking my permission to go somewhere, but instead he made plans and is wanting to know if I'm ok with his plan.
I tell him, this is the way to ask permission:
Mom, is it ok if John and I go to the park after school tomorrow?
There is a difference in how the questions are asked.
