What are you?
I was talking to my roommate tonight and she started discussing her family's various religions and spiritual paths. She ended her story with a question.
"What are you?"
"Hebraic roots. But not really."
I sat and ran though labels in my mind. What am I?
Apostolic? While in some ways I identify with the sort of Apostolic mostly presented here, in so many others I know I could never live up to the Apostolic expectations that some post. Because those expectations are what the world associates with Apostolic, when they know what it is, I hesitate to use the label.
Christian? I despise this term because of what it stands for in my mind. In the truest sense, yes I am a follower of Christ, a Christian. But I am not any of the things I immediately think of when I hear or say the word.
Here I drew a blank. What am I?
"Christian I guess, sort of."
So what are you?

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message
