Plank three is stupid. Yes there is an inheritance tax but it has nothing to do with marriage. the notion that marriage is a three way contract that leads to the state stepping in when one spouse dies is a lie. geez where did this come from????
any person who dies and leaves an estate, if they have been married 15 times or no times, if they have children or no children, if they have other heirs or none, if they leave their fortune to a cat or a friends children.... if faced with inheritance tax.
marriage has nothing to do with it. the writer of this little ditty is just tossing out slop for slops sake trying to scare people, or is someone who just has a wacky idea of things and no good sense!
Second, When the first spouse dies, the state doesnt step in to "collect their share". The death tax only kicks in once the both spouses pass... unless the couple in question has put their assets into a living trust and then they can pass a good portion to another generation without as many tax penalties.
and inheritance tax kicks in somewhere north of 2 million dollars. if you leave an estate of $250K the government doesnt get any. BUT Obama and his commie thug buddies in the congress are looking at lowering the level at which the death tax kicks in.
True communism takes the estate from the dead, not allowing it to pass to the next generation, true liberals want that to happen in America at a pretty low level, and true that America has a death tax.
BUT it is a balled faced lie to impune Marriage in America as this article does.
