Where is everyone getting the verse that connects Repentance and Forgiveness from?
I have yet to see anyone post it.
Just asking.

I don't believe anyone can repent until they first understand their wrong and ask forgivnes,
2Co 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
2Co 7:10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
The Jews on the day of Pentecost were pricked in their heart (understood their wrong) were sorry of thier sin when they ask Peter what must we do.
Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Confession of what? thier sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Repentance comes as a part of confessing our sins to the Lord. He is faithful and just to forgive us. Remission is differant it is the cleaning of our sin from our life. It was explained this way to me if I spill ink on a carpet and ask forginess I can be forgiven but the stain is still in the carpet. Until I wash the stain out of the carpet it will still be their. Until we are washed in the blood of Christ in water baptism the stain of sin is still with us. The only way to have a complete clean conscience.
1Pe 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
