Miss Brattfield is exactly right. She's making the point that there is a big difference in "believing with an infidel" and simply making yourself available through friendship to a sinner.

I understand, and if we are living the life friends around us will know and respect it. Getting buddy buddy with an adulterer is another story, IMO.
