Many use 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
I think unequally yoke could come into play with there being diferent cultures involved. In a mixed marriage both need to understand the culture of the other and be willing to part of it as long as it does not go against the teaching of God. How will other family members feel toward them?

One of my co-workers and I would discuss that point.
He could not admit that an American white guy and an American black girl would have more in common than a Russian white guy and an American white girl.
I think the family issue should be discussed, but it should not be a deciding factor.
I've seen a couple interracial marriages fail, but it wasn't because of the racial differences.
I've got an Uncle who's black and will never "seriously date" another black woman ever again, because of his bad experiences. Trying to get him to see that the problems are not skin related at all is like trying to talk to a brick wall.
