11/4 is bigger than 9/11
It's my opinion that this election is the official beginning of a new era for the US on a social/cultural/moral level. I think we have, like our European counterparts, entered into the post-Christian, post-Anglo, post-modern era. O is the first Prez elected by pomo's and an age has passed. The WWII and Vietnam era is over. Enter the age of Web 2.0 and the New Media and the man who leveraged that technology and the hopes of a disconnected pomo political block into a new political powerhouse.
I say post-Anglo cuz 95% of blacks and 66% of Hispanics voted for O. They're the new voting power, not whites. The Hispanic influence will only grow and blacks will be increasingly active due to the emergence of O. He's the great black/brown hope. I realize that may sound racist. It's not. At least not when I say it. I think it's a good thing.
9/11 propelled us to this point as the politics of the past bore their bitter fruit for all to see.
This shift has been going on for 10-20 years in our culture. It's now official and at the top of the power hierarchy and will shape our culture.
