I disagree, though I understand why a person would think that. My ex girl-friend and I talked about this on a couple of occasions.
There are some Black folks that want to see him lose, so as to spare his life and all the turmoil that
could follow. She is a part of that group of thinkers. She along with others do not believe our country is "ready" for him. She still supports Clinton. at least the last time we talked.
The threat on Obama's life is real and it's real sad. If I was in his shoes I wouldn't back down from that threat. I too would choose to have my acceptance speech in the open.
