We've got Bar-B-Que Crabs in my part of the world and one place in particular has the very best in the world. (NOTE: They are not barbqued like meat but fried in some serious Cajun spices.)
Now, I don't know about swordfish and such there in California but I can tell you that when I was there for the camp last year I slipped off to Pismo Beach and found what may well be the best clam chowder on Earth! Was SO good that I sent my kids back the last day to get me some more.
