Re: Why I am Leaving AFF...
Hey Gus. Brother, let me share some hard earned advice concerning these forums with you. Believe me when I tell you that there have been many times when I felt like it was time for me to leave completely. What I've learned is that there is always going to be someone who gets on my nerves, no matter how hard I try to avoid it. That's just a fact of forum life. One of the hardest things I have had to learn is how to not let someone else's lack of sense cause me to lose my cool. Anyone around here who has been the recipient of one of my curse word filled pms will tell you that I haven't always been able to maintain my cool on these forums. Thank God I don't do that anymore. Some subjects, like Christmas, I pretty much avoid altogether. So much so that I ended up taking a break last year from November through around the end of this January or so. Clint Eastwood had a really good line in one of his movies, and it went like this: "A man's got to know his limitations."
I said all that to say this: Maybe it's just time for you to take a break from posting. You would be surprised at the difference even just a few days would make. So, go ahead and take a break for a few days, and if you still feel the same after a few days, then quit altogether. Take the time to recharge your posting batteries and remember why it is that you started posting in the first place. There is something about this place that attracted you to it. I am sure that somewhere in your mind you thought you would be able to add something positive to the experience for yourself and for us too. Don't lose sight of that just because something you said happened to push someone's button. I hope you reconsider and we will be able to get back to poking fun at each other again. God bless you, Brother.
