We were sitting at the park watching my son's baseball team play tonight. They were in the bottom of the third inning when all of the sudden, out of nowhere the sky turned absolutely BLACK! Within seconds the wind was blowing so hard it was hard to stay on our feet and the rain was coming down so hard you couldn't see home plate, let alone across the field!
I've been in tornados before, but always from inside of a building looking out (once from inside of a car). I've never been OUTSIDE in anything like this before! Seriously! The wind was blowing so hard and the pressure sooooooooo strong that I literally could not breath in or out for about 20-30 seconds. I know that doesn't sound long, but imagine it. WHEW!!!
By the time my mom and I got to the car, we were completely soaked to the skin. Even our underclothes could be wrung out when we got home.
Keith and Walt and the rest of the team got in the dugout which was a little shelter. But then it started filling with water and in seconds they were standing knee deep!!!
When I went to drive home, I turned down the road behind us and found it completely blocked by a giant tree that had been completely uprooted and was laying across the road and on the house across the street.

Look how it completely ripped up the sidewalk as it fell!
