I'm kinda puzzled by what caused Dedicated Mind to start this thread.
God spoke to people in the Old and New Testaments (Adam, Noah, Abraham, David, Hezekiah, Paul, Ananias... to name just a few).
Why would anyone in the church today think that God has stopped speaking to his people? From what I can see, there's no biblical basis for thinking that.
So, what's this all about, DM? Talk to us about the impetus behind this thread.
There is no biblical basis for tongues and miracles having ceased either but...
...but I guess that's another topic. lol
Dedicated seems to be doing a lot of thinking the last bit.
