Wouldn't it just be ideal and clear up a whole lot of questions if the question of what we must do to be saved was specifically asked in the New Testament in our dispensation? Then if there was a clear and concise answer to that question it would probably free us of some of the confusion... It kind of makes you wonder why God would not include such an important element in the Bible.

Here is a point I have made over and over: In the bible not once ever did anyone question the purpose of water baptism. Not once did anyone put it off for a little while. Not once did anyone treat it as optional. Not once did Paul mention baptism as a work.....He did mention circumcision of the flesh and keeping the law.
In the bible the immediate response to hearing the gospel was trust, repentance and baptism
