Bro. R.A. Beesley, former DS of our district, once preached a message titled "Why You Should Attend Church". It was excellent. It should be preached in every church at least a couple times a year I think.
Along with the laxness we can see in many other areas of living a consistent Godly life, laxness and inconsistency in the area of church attendance is becoming a problem.
Stop and think about how hard our fathers and grandfathers worked -- much harder labour than what most endure today -- yet you could find them consistently out to church, prayer meeting and supporting the work of God in all the important ways. They didn't have all the luxuries we have today.
Subsequent generations have become less disciplined, less responsible and less consistent in some of these areas.
Don't mean to sound preachy or judgmental because it's not about that at all. But when you stop and think what some people endure and the cost they pay in serving Jesus Christ ....... thinking here about some of the foreign countries ..... just something to consider perhaps.
