Preaching again!

Well, I preached for the first time since 1990.

Things went very well and it felt like I had not missed a beat.

I have been in the business world over the years and have just now started the opportunity to preach.

I spoke at a church in Chicago.

I used the stories in the II Chron 28-33.

I did not read the verses.

I told the story from the scriptures and the historical perspective.

Without notes.

My focus on was on Manasseh.

He sat at the feet of Isaiah and Micah.

I told the story of Manasseh being hauled away in chains to Babylon which was a providence of Assyria.

There he say in a prison with a ring in his nose and chained to the wall.

He then laments before God and the Angel of the Lord breaks his chains.

He escapes over the walls of Babylon and works his way homeward.

There is a son written in the 1970's that I quoted:

"I have Returned"

Here is one of the verses:

I have returned to the Yahweh of Judah,
On my knees I did fall where the wall now stands;
This lesson I learned as I've worked my way homeward,
The Saviour of all is a comfort to man.
I have returned to the Father of Abraham,
The shepherd of Moses who called Him the great I am;
He's Jesus to me, Eternal Deity;
Praise His name, I have returned.

This verse speaks of Manasseh.

He rebuilds the western wall; he tears down the idols and for 20 years only worships Yahweh.

His son follows after the things of Yahweh.

I preached on the topic,

"It's never too Late!"

I will preach a follow up to this on Jeremiah 15:4 He will remove them because of the sins of Manasseh.

They go into captivity in Babylon because of the sins of Manasseh's first 12 years of his reign as the wicked king.

Manasseh was both the wicked and one of the Godliest kings.

He is more remembered for his sins.

His name means to forget.

The part that is forgotten is he is the longest ruling Ling and does serve God for 20 of his 43 years.

It was great to preach again.....

I look forward to future....
