I think that the problem is that most people, (well I'll say me, I am not actually the spokesperson for "most people") don't think that because something has a supposedly "pagan" origin, that they are wrong. If I was celebrating or participating in these activities with an intent to be a pagan, or participate in pagan worship, that would be bad, wrong. But that is not what these things these dates and things celebrate or signify in our society.

As a reference point, Sunday is the most pagan day of all, it has through time been the day of worship for all pagan religions. It is directly linked to human sacrifice. However in 1st Corinthians when Paul was speaking of their meeting for worship, he did not command them to stop meeting on that day because it had pagan origins. It was not what their intent would be.

The wedding ceremony itself has extremely pagan origins, as do all the trappings of it. However, that is not what it signifies in our society.

Finally, I am not trying to be hostile or rude, but it is troubling to me that you find no problem with picking and choosing which of these things are truly bad or wrong. Or that if it is God who is directing you to these convictions, that He would be that inconsistant. (obviously, I don't believe that.)
I don't take you as rude and I hope I'm not coming off as such. I think anyone can notice I never attack or get personal with others about this subject.

I understand other things have pagan origin such as sunday, but i have no control over naming the days of the week. Yes, it was named after the sun god but I don't partake of the rites of worship towards the sun god.

as far as wedding stuff, never knew or studied it out, but since I'm married already I guess it doesn't matter. But I will take a look at it.

One question, How can past symbols of satan be used to honor God today with celebrating his birth?
