Drunkenness is a sin. Preaching against it is not extrabiblical.
James Griffin pointed out that "impairment" is what the courts look to prosecute. Many people think they are fine to drive after "just a few" or what they would call "moderation," but they are often severely impaired without knowing it.
You are advocating an "every man does that which is right in his own eyes" approach.
Look at biblical principle, instead.
Look at the effects of drunkenness in the bible.
Lot = incest, and sons born of he and his daughters.
Noah = the curse of Ham.
Israel at Sinai = orgy and idolatry.
I could go on.
