UC's Play Dirty Pool with TV SIN Argument
It is said, by many not-so-well wishers, that the UPC now allows advertising on a devil box that is a sin to watch and own.
While the prohibition is somewhat outdated and is, in fact, destined for doom, I am not of the opinion any significant number in the UPC believe TV viewing and ownership constitutes SIN.
This accusation is more telling of the ultracon mindset of a world full of black and whites. It explains why an UC cannot compromise on the TV advertising - because to them, either genuinely or pretentiously, it is about accepting SIN.
A UPC minister signs agreement to many items when getting license, but agreeing that TV is SIN is not among them.
I say it's dirty pool for the Ultra Cons to pour an unintended meaning into the the prohibition of TV ownership and use it against the organization at this time.
The fact is, in ten short years most UC's will have all the TV technology in their own homes in spite of their willingness to criticize the growing pains found currently in the UPC.
