Still though ..... the mandate was issued in Genesis and the mandate and the principle of it is seen through both Old and New Testaments from Genesis to Revelation.
And that's the truth. Maybe hard to swallow sometimes because abuse happens. We've ALL seen it and know it's true.
But doesn't change the Scripture.

Absolutely. It is like that scripture that tells children to honor their mother and father. It doesn't say if they are worthy of honor in your eyes or not, but it says to do so that you may have a long life on this earth.
Just because one party does not do things God's way does not justify another's behaviors. Thank God there are more men who love and respect their wives than those who abuse and manipulate their wives.
I will have to say...I was NEVER abused in any way by my former husband. The only accusation I hold against him is not being man enough to defend his wife and family from the harsh treatment of others. Then again, we were both young and ignorant of the devil's devices and hopefully God will get the glory when it is all said and done.
To repeat what I think you have said:
Just because a man or a woman does not abide by God's rules of hiearchy and authority does not justify or excuse the other's behaviors.
