I'm saying that nothing is applied forever - we have to continue walking with Him in obedience. It isn't a "once saved always saved" deal.

Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Now onto the blood:

As I don't actually believe the "blood is applied", but better "the work He did and the hope He transferred to us by his blood" would be better.

Ephesians 2:13 "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ."

We are made "nigh by the blood of Christ" because we are "in" Christ.

How are we "in" Christ?

I Peter 1:2 "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied."

You could say that work or the blood was applied after sanctification. I Peter appears to qualify that as being "spirit filled."

I John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

I John 1:7 shows that it is a continuing work.

So, I'm back at Acts 2:38 and pressing-on.......
True the OT type the blood BEGAN at the brazen altar and remained until the Holiest of All. Every piece of furniture had blood sprinkled on it thus the blood make that particular piece a experience that was purchased by blood. The entire WALK was in a trail of Blood. Thus it is with us the blood that purchased my salvation at the cross makes available each experience from repentance until rapture. WATER was in the TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A DEATH sentence was placed on those who did NOT wash in WATER. And every sacrifice includes BLOOD-WATER-OIL-FIRE! The makes complete. The blood-water-spirit agree in one.
