Many prophets and persons in the OT were named after him.

IsaIAH, JeremIAH, ZecharIAH, ZephanIAH, ObadIAH, NehemIAH.

The IAH at the end of the names is pronounced as YAH.

Of course we allow for translations, but we who know better do understand that perhaps Yeshua is not 100% correct in the pronunciation and spelling, but it definitely is a lot closer than the name Jesus.

I have nothing against the name Jesus, it is ok to use by those in the English world, but the more I study this matter of his holy name, the more I prefer to use a name that is closer to the real name than a translation.
