"Prophetic" Preaching

I talked to a pastor of a small independant Apostolic church this week. He told me he is a "prophetic" type preacher. He told me that a prophetic preacher doesn't preach a prepared sermon, but preaches to the needs of those in attendance, and allows God to lead him into what to say!

If this is the case, most 'prophetic' type preaching that I've heard ends up rambling from topic to topic, and when the sermon is over, I'm left wondering what the sermon was about. Baptism in Jesus name, and Acts 2:38 are almost always covered in these type sermons.

Methinks that 'prophetic' style preaching can be another word for lazy and unprepared!!! What think ye?
