Well, I will defend him on the oops moment as he had just come out of an experimental back surgery and was on pain medication. I also happened to be in Bastrop the day the big fire started. We met up with some people at Southside Market for lunch when the wind gusts shut down the lights. After leaving we noticed the smoke and I turned to my husband and said, "That's going to cause a major problem." I had no idea the extent it would actually cause.
So, I defend Gov. Perry for that gaffe. The other part was more laughable as he wanted to end the Department he is now being assigned to. He is the longest running Governor which means the majority of Texans wanted him to govern our state. This "thinking" Texan voted for him every election. He is a really likeable person.
I am much more concerned that he is trying to find some legal avenue to put his son-in-law and liberal daughter into his Administration. His son-in-law in an email concerning Bridgegate, wrote that it was a "bada**" thing to do. That's a troubling view for a person of influence to have.
