I think the same claim can be made for Cruz supporters.
It's just that "The Donald" is more vociferous with the "anti-immigrant, anti-muslim, etc" views than Cruz or the other republican candidates. Thus it is logical that he gains the most traction. That is what a large number of the republican base wants.
The other candidates talk about a pathway to legalization for illegals when a good amount of their constituency would rather just round up the illegals and throw them out or worse.
Also, Fox news has been propagating "The Donald's" views for some years feeding the so called anger among the republican base. Well, the chickens have come to roost and it ain't pretty...
If Trump wins the general election (gosh I seriously hope not), blacks in the south might need to start migrating back up north...
