Both of my kids, born US citizens but Bi-racial , daughter married a white man and my son dates only Asian~ My son attended for a time, LeMoyne-Owen College while living in the south (the south was a nightmare) and their were a few whites there. I cant really wrap my mind around a time (in US) where they lynched blacks.....for NOTHING! As for some of us blacks being called African.....my husband is black and he will correct that real quick......only bc he says he is not from Africa and none of his family was either. My son goes by black and my daughter , the same. My daughter looks of the lighter skin (high yellow) and my son Mocha skin. I do not have any white in my family outside of my son-in-law and the new baby due in Oct. I feel you should be able to attend any school of your choice no matter your ethnicity!!!! Everything should be equal bc in Gods eyes it is!!!

I love your spirit!
My reason for starting this thread is because there seems to be a deep divide in America OVER THE GROUND RULES for discussing race. To me, this is like sitting down with a neighbor over a land dispute, and being told that for him to even consider a compromise, I must first agree that it must end in his favor!
I totally understand that there were racial injustices in the past and even some today. Although, I believe it is more of a social class injustice than a racial injustice these days. The wealthy have money to buy the best defense, while the poor rely on a public defender that just wants the case to go away.
BTW, I attend a church with a black senior pastor! Our church is probably 60% black and 40% white.
