after the fact. It is a human trait which has allowed years and years of magic and mentalist acts to be performed by people who are usually MUCH more talented
and accurate than what we have seen in churches. The magician or mentalist MUST be better at his trade because his audience, while expecting to be entertained, are also looking for the secret to how it's done. In a church setting, the average person doesn't
dare question the one giving the prophecy or word of knowledge lest they meet an untimely death on the drive home.
