Nate
I would like for you guys to pray for a coworker of mines family, his name was Nate.
Last night he barricaded himself in his home and got his wife and kid to leave and he then shot himself. He was one year older than me, he was 21. His son was only a year old. Less than a year maybe.
The worst part is, all of this could have been prevented. My coworkers constantly picked on him and said he was lazy, the problem is... he was assigned to do the same thing I am. Work on the computer on HVAC systems. I am in a maintenance shop and I was assigned to work on the PM system. Our jobs are to keep track of computer programs whereas the others jobs are to physically work on the equipment, and because of that they believe that we are lazy when in all actuallity we would be able to run circles around these guys if given the chance, instead we were chosen for a different purpose. So because we are younger than everyone else (everyone else is mostly 40 to 60) they feel they must belittle us. He had also had to have his teeth removed and had recently gotten dentures, which they also made fun of him for.
What sickens me the worst is the hypocrisy of the whole situation. Today I have heard nothing but "He was an outstanding young man." or "He will be deeply missed." When no less than a week ago these same people were saying "Fire that piece of **** let me do it, he does'nt do **** any way." and things of this sort. It angers me so bad because I go through the same exact problems as he did, the difference is I have god and he did not. He turned to drinking, and that began to anger his wife, so he caught problems throughout the entire day at work and home. That by no means justifies what he did, it was stupid and wreckless and now there is a 1 year old boy who will never know his father because of his decision, HOWEVER that does not give these hypocrits justification in what they done and they cannot push the blame to him and say "Well he should've manned up." They should have been respectful and understood what he done and why he done it. He was following orders, so for them to assume he wasn't working is ridiculous. It makes these individuals feel a sense of comfort telling themselves it was his stupid decision rather than thinking for a moment "Maybe I should not have said these things or done those things." They would rather compensate themselves and push false sympathy on this family to cover their behinds and it makes me want to vomit them out of my mouth.
So I beg you pray for Nates family, they do not recieve life insurance because it was a suicide, and they were in a bad way to begin with.. so with this death and loss of income they could very well become homeless or something of the sort.
I also ask that you pray for my work situation, please ask god to touch these mens heart and let them see the folly of their ways. Please ask god to give me strength in dealing with the times ahead.. all of the younger workers are either being moved, dwindling down, or killing themselves and now the focus will switch to the others.... I ask you to ask Jesus to move on this situation, fill me with revelation knowledge and give me the ability to work through this and keep his commandments and not fly off the handle. I myself used to be involved in violent activity and had a huge anger problem, ask god to keep me silent and when I must speak, let him give me the words and not my own... for I was nothing but a hater of all mankind, and when I become disheartened or angry that spirit comes back and tries to do work, so pray for me in that area. And again, pray for his family... this is a horrible situation.
His stepfather was actually one of our supervisors, people gave him problems over that even though he was treated equally to the others...
God forgive them, for they know not what they do... but open their eyes so that they may see and repent.
In Jesus name I pray these things and ask you to do the same, Amen.
