God bless you KBTW!
I can't see God putting those "books" on a shelf for ever after the judgment. And seeing how God doesn't rejoice in judgment but desires love and learning I tend to believe they will be of some greater purpose. Perhaps reviewing the tomes of Heaven will shed far more light on God's own nature and grace itself with ever unfolding understandings.
One thing is interesting. The term "books" is the same term from which we get the word "bible". It might be that the Bible we have is all that we need thus far... but the Bible in Heaven includes everyone that has ever existed and is more like a library holding untold volumes of knowledge and understanding.
I reject the BORING and HYPER SPIRITUAL PLATONIC notions of Heaven and Eternity that I've heard. For me... Heaven and Eternity has to be BETTER than earth. I can't see it being an eternal "song service" with us strumming harps as the ages pass into infinity. There's something in the human spirit that desires so much more than what we have here... I believe that desire will be fulfilled in every category.
Essentially the New Creation will be everything God intended to come from Eden in the beginning. God is REDEEMING His creation... NOT scrapping it for some wispy ethereal existence. When God created the cosmos... He said that it was GOOD. A New Creation would only restore all things to that state of goodness... and with Him being personally present in the body of Jesus Christ... it becomes better than good... it becomes the GREATEST EVER.
I get so excited. I feel like I'm wanting to jump out of my seat and pack right now! LOL
