The other issue here is how tithes are still viewed and administered by many OPs.
They view them as "theirs". Often with little accountability. Especially when dealing with cash.
The old school way leads to serious liabilities and questions about transparency.
(And that's not to say that many are not compelled to put a bulk back into the church out of necessity)
OT Levitical rules are preached and taught in collection but not followed as to how it was administered.
Pastors today should be on a set salary. And funds handled by an expert third party ( ideally, not the pastor's wife).
Ultimately, it leads to less headache.
