I remember a message he preached at the General Conference a few years ago. Had boxes all over the stage with "blood" all over them. I don't remember the title or much of the message. I just remember it was weird and others I've talked with felt the same way.
He may be a great guy, enthusiastic with a passion for souls and a former missionary . . . but as already has been pointed out, that doesn't automatically mean he'd be a great GS.
Personally, if I had a vote, I'd vote for Anthony Mangun. He's solid
Acts 238, strong with convictions, yet not so neocon that he runs people off. He's got an incredible passion for souls - every message he preaches bears witness of that. He's got a great church that reaches more lives and gives more money to missions and the community than most churches combined.
