Depending on who is Master in your life or can become your master will be what directs your children's future... if you set the Master before them.. they will grow up knowing him or whatever else becomes god in your life.. because it becomes your master of time... expense..and everything else..
There is a Biblical Principle set... in the story.. what Man enjoyed overode his responsibility to his family.. it dulled his senses to what was necessary for his kid's life... thereby enslaving him to it... and in the end.. he was right back where he started from... in the INN...

if this is the point of your PARABLE ... THAN the Inn should've have been a broader concept .... like unwholesome amusements ... rather than item-specific ....
