CC1 Son In Bad Car Accident
Found out this morning that last night (early am today) my youngest son who lives in Austin, Texas fell asleep at the wheel of his new Scion Xb and crossed the lane and hit a Jeep Cherokee head on going about 45-50 mph.
Thankfully both he and the man he hit have no serious injuries. Upon impact my son bit his tongue almost completely through. He also has some bumps and bruises from the airbag deploying along with a cut chin. The seat belt that protected him also caused him a lot of pain when it tightened up to keep him from being ejected.
The EMT's at the scene looked him over and he foolishly declined to go to the hospital to get checked out. He may end up going today though as I think it would be a good idea to make sure there are no internal injuries.
Thank heavens he took gap insurance when he financed his car. It was only about $4.00 per month and him being 21 I told him it was probably a good idea.
The bad thing is he has a $1000 deductible on his insurance in an effort to keep his insurance premium down which at age 21 is very high (and probably will be even higher now).
Between his insurance coverage and this gap coverage and his savings account he should be back in a new Xb this week thank heavens since he needs it for work.
I am just thankful he is alive and so is the man he hit. I told him that I know he thinks mom and dad are old fogeys for constantly telling our kids not to drive sleepy, late at night, etc but this is exactly the reason why. 21 year olds tend to think they are invincible. He said this was definitely a wake up call.
Looks like everything is going to be ok but help me pray that both my son and the man he hit have no internal injuries and both will be ok.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
