The Jews use it at Passover. The First Christians were Jews. Jesus was too. They were using eggs before the pagans were in connection to the Passover and and the Resurrection.
Easter egg hunts are harmless. No one will get possessed of a demon or anything. There's a Judeo-Christian connection.
