Some of you may have wondered why I haven't been around much since the inception of this board, well, here is the story. (This is only for those who have missed me not for those were who were all
at my disappearance
)
For background info, I have to tell you that my 6 months after I was saved, my Mom was saved as well. However, 3 years ago when I moved to Georgia, she left the UPC with a vengeance.
Back in November she started "hanging out" with and eventually dating someone. And things have progressed to the point where they are talking about marriage. As I hadn't seen her in over a year. or met her new friend. They decided to drive down for a visit (all above board, separate hotel rooms...etc).
So what is so noteworthy of all this, that I am actually making a whole thread about it?
Well, it has to do with his profession.
You see he is a Charismatic....
Pastor....
And my maybe future step-dad?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?
I mean, first of all....a Pastor of any kind....in my family? This is Mich you are talking about! And then to make that Pastor a "crazy charismatic"???
You gotta love God's sense of humor!
Now that I think about it, it would make a good reality show!
Actually, we got on quite well, as we have similar sense of humor. He didn't even mind when I called him a Crazy Charismatic (He even shortened it to "crazy-matic" ) and I learned to goodnaturedly roll my eyes with his constant use of the word legalism.
Of course...there was a quite heated discussion about Benny Hinn...
