Imagine that you are a farmer with several fields of grain.
Now imagine that the law of the land requires that you allow the poor and needy classes of society to freely glean from the corners and the edges of your fields. You are prohibited to pick up anything harvested on your own land if it is dropped, yet the poor are freely allowed to pick it up and run off.
Not only that. Every third and sixth year of a 7 year sabbath cycle you are legally required to give an additional 10% agrarian land tax in order to ensure that the network of storehouses throughout the nation are stocked with enough grain to feed the poor and needy classes.
In addition to these legal entitlements regarding your harvest on your property, you are encouraged to give to charitably to the needy throughout the year if you happen to see anyone of your fellow countrymen in need.
Essentially the poor and the needy are legally entitled to a portion of your increase (income). How do you feel about that as a landowner? Is it theft???

How does your philosophy that entitlement is theft stand up to God's Law regarding a nation's responsibility to care for the poor, needy, widows, orphans, and even strangers (resident aliens)???
