I don't believe it's contradictory at all. Trump supporters are angry and unable to reason, but I don't believe they are as devoted to Trump as Bernie supporters are devoted to Bernie.
Bernie supporters are very angry at Trump. Trump's rhetoric makes them angry. They will spend money and wait hours to protest against Trump.
Meanwhile, Trump supporters don't care what Bernie says. They're not going to pay or spend time to go to a Bernie event.
