A Serious Question
Dear AFF posters,
I have a very serious question to ask...ministry input would be deeply appreciated. This is the situation:
First Pentecostal Church of Marion, Indiana is having an anniversary service Labor Day weekend. My ex-husband and I pastored there in the mid 1980's after the late L. Wm. Schmidt retired.
We have all been invited: my ex-husband and his wife, my children and their families, and myself. They have asked all previous living Pastors to speak.
I went to one of their anniversary services with my children and all the former Pastors were mentioned except for us. My children didn't understand why we were left out.
You know, I know Bro. & Sis. Harris, former UPCI missionaries to Europe are good people. They intend to post pictures of all of us during the series of services.
I am not sure how I feel about going. I feel that peace between former saints and myself have been resolved, forgiven, and we have all went on with our lives. I know that I was an integral part of the ministry at FPC as assistant in 1979-1980, as well as pastors wife for many years.
I am not sure it would be a good idea to go and have all the past drug up and then have to worry about the ex and his present wife and all that family junk I just went through for my son's wedding.
Should I go? Do I have a right to go? Will it accomplish anything or make things more uncomfortable?
I would sincerely appreciate your thoughts. Be aware that my ex-husband's wife and my daughter-in-law read these posts and are on this forum quite often.
Blessings, Rhoni
