How did I think wrong? You words are your words. You can try to backpedal and obfuscate your intention or meaning, but what's written has been written.
And then you edit and add on to the prior statement above, seemingly to suggest that I'm guilty and that's the reason I'm defensive about it. Could it be that your statement was ridiculous and your indictment was so offensive that that is why I'm defensive about it?
It was a terrible statement that is unfounded, and doesn't apply to a majority of people today.

Trying to clarify is not back-peddling, I meant what I said. I am not responsible for how you took it, however I do want to be sure I communicated as well as possible. I edited for the same reason, a late thought that didn't seem worthy of a whole new post... I did not remove anything. Nice of you to try to make it a me against AFF issue though... sheesh...
There are people here claiming that racism is a 'thing of the past'... ummm...no. I, like many others that are assumed to be white, have heard exactly what folks think when they believe they are in supportive company and it's very different than what they say publicly... Or maybe you don't live in the south... I'm honest to say that it's not just a black/white issue. Many Latinos hate blacks... Asians used to be despised but now have a reputation of being highly intelligent, middle-eastern folks are widely despised. And those who live in little racial bubbles and have no exposure to or interaction with other races are much more easily able to dehumanize those of other races.
I hate to just say it outright but if you were that offended... well.. tough noogies.
