Ferd,
I am biased AGAINST Sarah Palin. For a time, I really did like her. Now, it would be next to impossible for her to win me over as a voter.
With that said, even those who like her must admit that she is noticeably absent from the national GOP stage right now and THAT my friend is a VERY GOOD THING for Conservatives all over America.
Whether it's fair or not, to be associated with Palin is "like touching a tar baby and you get it, you're stuck."
(p.s. The quote works better in this setting because "tar baby" has never been used in a racially derogatory way towards people who look like her.)
