another alternative is to provide a home for a pregnant young lady where she can complete her education (maybe a G.E.D.) learn some work skills to prepare her for the job market, mentor her, help find good parents who will adopt the baby, or help here with the raising of that baby should she decide to keep the child.
It is my understanding that in the early centuries of the church, when newborn babies were cast out and left to die, that Christians took those babies in and reared them in a Christian environment.
