Martha Stewart did jail for lying. to the feds.
Your socialist pals don't pay taxes.
then we have Obama:
Quote:
The biggest whopper from Friday is this gem "So these policies of cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans, of stripping away regulations that protect consumers, running up a record surplus to a record deficit — those policies finally culminated in the worst financial crisis we've had since the Great Depression." No mention of Fannie or Freddie and the housing bubble that was government created. No mention of the skyrocketing energy prices that lit the fuse to the economic meltdown. No mention of the fact that AFTER the taxes were cut, government revenues increased substantially.

Are you farther along and a communist?
Quote:
The starting point for Marxist philosophy, and the basis of Das Kapital, is the observation that, in general, the world revolves on a capitalist economy wherein people with money hire people without money to make things and provide services. Marx observed that capitalism is self-defeating and predicted that class distinctions would become wider and wider. He proposed that capitalism should be replaced with a system where work is performed for the common good rather than for money provided by a privileged class—in other words, he proposed communism.
|
Since you are too stubborn to take an econ class, try reading Mein kampf.
Your drivel on the wealthy is how the marxists, socialists operate. Steal from those that have to give to those that don't.

That is why America has been successful, reward those that take a chance to build a business. Many more fail than succeed, but why punish those that do succeeed?

Class envy is how the ruling class gets people upset. Under socialism, there is no incentive to save and reinvest. Many poor people became wealthy by reason of saving and investing.

Re: Wealthy People Have It So Bad In America
This issue is so much more complex than some of you are making it.
I agree quite a bit with trickle down economics. But some of the super rich have so many fingers in the government, buying their way in until the rules and regulations are made by special interest groups for profiteers. That is where the problem lies. When the rich run the government for their own profits to the loss of the middle class, we have a problem. Look all over America.....middle class households have lost so much money in home equity. That's just one example. Middle class lost because these guys were gambling with the money, making loans to those who could not repay and they knew better. There were regulations in place to keep this from happening UNTIL they repealed those laws (and many fought hard to repeal them) and the big money guys went in like vultures. Now, banks won't lend money after they were balied out on top of it.
Economics is a very, very complex issue.

We see a great increase in people now listed as poor and listed as having very little net worth.

There is a great increase in food stamp usage etc. I think the government would like to cripple us all so we beg them for help. Then, they can "rescue" us and we would be so thankful, eh?

You sound jealous. 200K is wealthy? Yeah compared to people like you and me, sure. I want to know why you feel that way though. 200k is not a lot and not wealthy compared to the millionaires.
200k get's you a nice house and 2 nice cars maybe. Tax the crud out of them and maybe, just maybe you can smile when you see them turn in their cars for a used wreck.
Oh, while we are at it, us poor folks get college funds. We get grants and other things. And you want more? You know those 200k snobs might have more toys than you do, but I bet that unless they are living like you they also worry about paying their mortgage and other bills.
Why do you hate the middle class?

You haven't been pointing out the obvious. You sound more like a spoiled child pouting that someone actually has more than you do.
They already pay more taxes. Many of them worked their butts off to get to where they are and you want to reward them by taking more of their money and giving it to the rest of America?

Re: Wealthy People Have It So Bad In America
California is a perfect model for how democrats ruin the economy.
They taxed the wealthy, they taxed businesses. So many businesses left.
So now we have less people working, meaning less revenue. So what was their answer? More taxes on the wealthy and on businesses...guess what happened next?

I am not jealous.
I don't hate anyone.
I was making a smart butt remark concerning the idea that wealthy people should have tax breaks-- as if they can't afford to pay taxes, as if they need the tax help.
