Re: The Mosque Should Be Built!
Americans go to Muslim countries to help them build things because the Muslim countries offer them a better life for them and their families than they have in America. Talent goes where it is most rewarded and people find the best place possible to live with their families and children. The Muslims that you say are american haters treat Americans better than Americans treat Americans. Can you gimme Hallelujah?
As stated before, we have to comb through thousands of resumes. BUT: If Americans didnt send so much money to them then they would not build things would they? The money to build things does not come from Americans who are building things, the money comes from Americans who are buying things and paying Muslim countries to build things. Americans who are building things are sending the money right back.
Get your house in gear and build things and we will come home and build them. There is nothing to build. All of the building is being done outside of America and the builders are going where the building is being done.

Re: The Mosque Should Be Built!
The New York Post reports today that one or more competing commercial real estate buyers were willing to pay more than three times the $4.8 that Sharif al-Gamal paid for the property. The Post states:"New York developer Kevin Glodek was livid when he found out the building sold for a fraction of what he offered in 2007 -- $18 million cash -- and wondered whether money changed hands under the table, according to sources close to the deal.Glodek and his partners wanted to build a 60-story condo tower with retail space on the Park Place site, had inked a purchase agreement and even had...
Looks like a shady deal.

I don't know if that is all true. Americans don't necessarily go to Saudi Arabia because it offers a better life. They do it for money. Americans also went to Iraq with guns, not soldiers but private citizens, for money...you know it was not a better life.
And Arabs come to America for the same reason, money...maybe, just maybe they come here to practice their religion too under a more tolerate government
It's a global economy. It has nothing to do with Islam. Saudi America is an oil rich trading partner that we just sold billions of dollars worth of arms too.
Being a Christian though, I would never move to SA, not for the money of the so called better life. I love the Lord and I love to worship Him without fear

Accurate religious demographics are difficult to obtain in Saudi Arabia[1] but 85 to 90% of citizens of Saudi Arabia are Sunni Muslims, who predominantly subscribe to the Government-sanctioned interpretation of Islam, while 15 to 10% of citizens are Shi'a Muslims[1].
There are more than a million Roman Catholics in Saudi Arabia, most of them are expatriates Filipinos and Indians who work there, but who do not have the citizenship of Saudi Arabia[2][1]. The percentage of Christians of all denominations among the about 1.2 million Filipinos in Saudi Arabia likely exceeds 90%[3]. There are also Christians from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya and as well a number of Christians from sub-Saharan countries who are working in the Saudi Kingdom[4].
Saudi Arabia allows Christians to enter the country as foreign workers for temporary work, but does not allow them to practice their faith openly, because of that Christians generally only worship in secret within private homes[5]. Items and articles belonging to religions other than Islam are prohibited[6]. These include Bibles, crucifixes, statues, carvings, items with religious symbols, and others[7].
The Saudi Arabian Mutaween (Arabic: مطوعين), or Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (i.e., the religious police) prohibits the practice of any religion other than Islam[8]. Conversion of a Muslim to another religion is considered apostasy[9], a crime punishable by death (Capital punishment in Saudi Arabia) if the accused does not recant[10]. The Government does not permit non-Muslim clergy to enter the country for the purpose of conducting religious services[11].
Christians, and other non-Muslims, are prohibited from entering the cities of Mecca and Medina, Islam's holiest cities[12].

Quote:
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an Islamic theocratic monarchy in which Islam is the official religion. Although no law requires citizens or passport holders to be Muslim, almost all citizens are Muslims. Proselytizing by non-Muslims is illegal, and conversion by Muslims to another religion (apostasy) carries the death penalty, although there have been no confirmed reports of executions for apostasy in recent years.[1]
Religious freedom is virtually non-existent. The Government does not provide legal recognition or protection for freedom of religion, and it is severely restricted in practice. As a matter of policy, the Government guarantees and protects the right to private worship for all, including non-Muslims who gather in homes for religious practice; however, this right is not always respected in practice and is not defined in law.[2] Moreover, the preaching and public practice of non-Muslim religions is prohibited.[3] The Saudi Mutaween (Arabic: مطوعين), or Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (i.e., the religious police) enforces the prohibition on the public practice of non-Muslim religions. Sharia Law applies to all people inside Saudi Arabia, regardless of religion.

BTW Israel also forbids proselytizing in Israel. It's illegal to pass out tracts there
Neither are places Id want to live in, but I would not mind visiting

BTW Crime is not unheard of there either

CRIME: Crime has risen dramatically in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but continues to remain at levels below most major metropolitan areas in the United States. Street crime is not uncommon and visitors should take precautions to reduce their risk of becoming crime victims. Individuals should be aware of their surroundings and keep valuables out of sight and secure. Items of value should not be left in plain view in vehicles. It is advisable to travel with a companion, if possible. Private Saudi citizens who perceive that a foreigner is not observing conservative standards of conduct may harass, pursue, or assault that person. The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh cautions American citizens that Saudi Arabian police authorities have detained potential witnesses to crimes without charges or access to legal counsel, and with limited or delayed consular access, during the investigative stage of criminal cases, which can take months. On occasion, Saudi authorities have temporarily confiscated the personal effects of detained potential witnesses. Even when released from detention, witnesses to criminal incidents may be prohibited from leaving the country until investigation of the incident is complete. During 2009, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has received several reports of carjacking incidents in Riyadh and surrounding areas. These incidents involved multiple criminals who in some instances used force or a display of force to take the vehicle. In other incidents, the criminals created a diversion such as a minor traffic accident or some other ruse to get the driver out of the car. In the few cases involving Westerners, it appears that they were targeted because of the make of their car rather than the fact that they were Westerners. As in the United States, most vehicles are stolen for parts. If you are a victim of such an attack, please see the “Information for Victims of Crime” section below for guidance on reporting the incident to the authorities.
In many countries around the world, counterfeit and pirated goods are widely available. Transactions involving such products may be illegal under local law. In addition, bringing them back to the United States may result in forfeitures and/or fines. The Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Division in the U.S. Department of Justice has more information on this serious problem.
