Congrats. Grandma
Renda,
I felt like an idiot sitting in the window seat texting through this. LOL!

One of my sisters e-mailed and said, "Boy, you would have had a Butterball Turkey on your hands if she had carried full term." LOL!

It is unbelieveable to think he was not full term!

I got my first glimpse of a mother fighting for the life of her child when his heart monitor kept dropping (I stopped watching at 54) and they were saying, "You need to push! His heart rate is dropping too low! We can't have his heart rate this low. You need to push! Push harder!"

They finally used a vacuum because his heart rate wouldn't return to baseline.

I put my head down and was praying silently when I felt someone sit next to me and put their arm around me. It was her husband. He was so frightened. He had been standing by her side, but couldn't take it anymore.

Later she said that she felt like her eyeballs were going to pop out, she was pushing so hard. After everything was cleaned up, the baby wheeled out, she started crying, "That was the worst experience I have ever had in my life!" Poor thing! I said, "Do you think you would ever had any more children?" "No, I don't think so." LOL!

They will be released on Thursday. Thought it was 48 hours, but they have extended the stay. I won't have any pictures until they get home. No one is allowed to hold him as he has to stay in the nursery. She goes in for his feeding times. He is doing very well with that! I'm very happy for this! Nursing is so healthy and important to both the mother and baby.

Margie,
You are so right in your post!

I know that even though some of our posting can be a little divisive at times, at the heart of all, we do care about each other - a great deal!

Thank you all, again, for your prayers!

Renda! You are up next, girl! Well, you and James. We will all be on standby!
