It only takes one generation to lose the truth. It does not take two or three generations. If this generation of young people does not see the Apostolic demonstration of the Spirit and Power of God, then it is lost to future generations.
Sometimes I wonder how much dependence there really is on the Spirit. Apparently not enough when we think the entire Kingdom of God will fail if we fail. This anxiety screams "I don't trust that God is in control."

Did you study the original phrasing and context behind this statement? Perhaps Mr. Stoneking's history should be examined. Maybe we should translate it into Greek, so that we can fully understand it.

How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Joel chapter 2 and verse 1
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

Is that a lame attempt to be funny? Oh, I think it is.

Is God in control or isn't He? Are we our own protectors, Saviors, defenders or do we rest in God's sovereignty?
It's not so much that Truth was lost, a much as people quit trusting God and instead turned to Creeds, dry religion and lazy Christianity. Trusting God works every time, and it makes more believers too.

I was being facetious...kind of making light of the OP belief that they have the complete truth even though you can't find EVERY OP distinction believed consistently in church history....so since you can't, then losing the truth has happened before. Ha Ha.

I don't know that any article of faith asserts "we have the complete truth". Yes OPs do claim to have a truth that many other churches do not, such as baptism in Jesus name and the Oneness. But how is that any different than any other Christian group that claims what they believe is the truth and what the OPS believe is not the truth

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
