Rush Limbaugh...Thumbs Up or Down?

It's funny, it's entertainment along with some good information.

As for Glenn---I don't listen often. I think the better part of his "ranting" is true but it's too negative. I listen to tiny portions and then move on.

And Savage is a nut case.

Rush does rule......the ratings!

I know I sound like I hate him, but I actually do like him. And I like Sarah Palin too...even with the interviews. I just filter how much I listen to these people. They're just WAY too negative and as everyone here knows, I NEVER say anything negative!!!

So....something that has amazed me since he hit the scene is the way Christians, and pentecostals in particular, worship the almighty Rush Limbaugh. AQP's list made me think of this. You'd think Rush sits on the right hand of God. There are a LOT of Christians who set their lives by him.

WHY??? Even though I agree with much of what he says, he's often mean-spirited, occasionally borders on racism, constantly negative, uses language that many of you folks would slap your kids for using, preaches family values but has never been able to sustain one, and the list goes on and one.

So the simple poll question here is: Rush Limbaugh...thumbs up or thumbs down? Please vote, and if it's ok, I'm including the voters IDs.

I respect his accomplishments as much as I respect Tiger Woods' talents.
Rush's failed marriages cause me to lose as much respect for him as I do Tiger Woods!

I know what you're getting at but here's the problem with comparing the two of them...Rush is out there telling us all how to live our lives, what to believe, who to believe, what to think, etc.

Tiger is NOT! Tiger never told us a darn thing to think, who to vote for, what's right, what's wrong, never preached family values.

Tiger is a golfer.

Rush tells everyone what to do.

Big difference.

While it may reduce the influence of the person who says, "Do it this way" then does it another way it doesn't change the truth of what was said.

Rush is right about this, he is the voice of many peoples' thoughts. He gives voice to those who had none before.

I agree with the bolded. My problem is with those that truly do just regurgitate what he says. My other problem is, he always takes the conservative line and occasionally defends the indefensible. But like I said, I mostly agree with him. And as I originally said, I'm amazed that pentecostals worship at his feet.

The fact is there are a lot of non-thinkers on both sides of every issue. And usually they are regurgitating someone.

Conservatives have their fair share who can't think outside of what Rush, Hannity and Beck have to say.

I guess I'm an idiot who actually thinks that each issue actually stands on its own. I just don't like it...on either side....when someone checks first with what their ideal system thinks. That's why I liked what your daughter wrote...it was coming from her heart and she hadn't checked with the conservative system first before she formed her opinion.

While each issue should stand on its own, we are a democracy wrapped in a republic, we don't vote on every issue we elect men and women who we agree with their overall philosophy and trust that they will vote their conscience. When they don't or we find we agree more with another candidate's overall views we vote for the other guy.

But that doesn't mean that for ourselves we should be spoon fed a party line.
