i agree with you! I love every service... The pastor's wife and I were talking about this just last night. You need both, teaching and preaching. I have found the teaching of the Word of God will keep you. You've gotta know the Word of God and be steadfast . and it's those incredible times of preaching when it fills your soul with joy and strength! Each service has it's place..... and I can't get enough of any of it!!!

That was going on for about two maybe three years. I guess it depends upon someone's definition of "sluggish". Yeah, some of the people come in and sit back - but Pastor doesn't allow that for very long. Several of the PM services have turned into prayer meetings.

I heard eactly this ! lol

what was some of his reasons for returning to PM service ?
what's the attendance comparing AM to PM ?

I knew this had His daughters hands in it, no way anyone else could have talked him into it.

I suppose now, if I go, I will have a live forum in which to get people angry. Naahhh, don't think I will even go, however, they did pull a coup de gras and have one of my greatest friends to be a facilitator...and who lives across the street from us.

Never thought it would happen but I was also told it was in part because they are going to do a major renovation in the sanctuary.
I really enjoyed community group with a good facilitator. (The one I liked moved away a few years ago.) You ought to try it.

I guess the idea of share groups on sunday nights didn't work out ???

I wonder how hard it;s going to be to get the people back into the habit of coming on Sunday nights after having their sunday evenings off to do whatever.

maybe this is a good sign. i think this is a little encourging

Not sure the reasoning for these fellowships, but might I share a observation.

The problem with keeping people on fire and spiritual is not having more services.

The root of the problem is the lack of discipleship and the fact that many who belong to the church in the west are basically spiritual consumers.

This cycle of meetings that keep people passive (yes I know in our churches people get with it) but passive in the sense they do not exercise their gifts, don't get to stretch their spiritual muscles are dependent upon the service run by professionals to meet their needs.

Basically give them a fish, instead we need to teach them how to fish and start exercising their spiritual muscles.

Well, there are a few things that bother me about this.

One was the fact that several people approached me yesterday with that yearning look to see if I wanted to go to the front to pray through. I will blaze a path through the door if this is what that is about. Sometimes people have a tendency to be hyper-spiritual during these things and common sense is left out on the lawn.

Secondly, the literature made it very very clear that the Pastor was in control of the content, "It is going to be like Pastor _________ is preaching...Pastor controlled content, etc..."

We'll see, I may give it a shot...

Oh well, I guess I can tune into some of ya'lls. Any of you have live web casting (or whatever it's called)? I know Bro. Bass in Ocala has his services available online.
Here are some larger churches with online services.

Pentecostals Of Alexandria
The Pentecostal Church (Terry Black in Memphis)

Others are on ABNGlobal, but the feed is unreliable.

Keith it sounds good on paper but in reality on 4% of the population are leaders. that means 96% are followers. as you know Jesus feed the multitudes but how many became true disciples ??
