There is this assumption that profiling is inherently evil. And operating under this assumption people (read: Government Officials) go to extremes to NOT profile like a few weeks ago when we took a cross country flight and "I" was singled out (Me, a white Irish German Polock) for a random wand search while sitting surrounded by three very Arabic/Muslim men who were not even glanced at.

It's not that's it's evil as much as unAmerican for a legal citizen to not feel welcomed in his own land, and harrassed daily, with public skepticism about who he "really" is.
That's only half of it. Of coure, I don't believe the bill resolves fairly, or justly the problem in a way that will work.
Sorry you were "singled out" in a "random search." Unfortunately, your airport pales in comparison with those who are non-white.
(Maybe they thought you had a Uni-Bomber profile? ha)

You sound a little bitter ...
First, AZ does have a law against the (as you put it) WHITE business owners who hire illegals for cheap labor. So that's covered and has been enforced more than once.
Also, this new bill now targets beyond brick and mortar businesses and hits the mean WHITE people who hire cheap day laborers who are illegal.
Last, the government HAS raided businesses to enforce E-verify and weed out illegal immigrants.
As far as the Legislator goes, I don't see where he's being a hypocrite. If you call following the law, which he's done from the time he's come into this country, while latino being a hypocrite, then sure he's a hypocrite. Regarding the tithes received - that's neither my business nor is it any of your business.
And does the Apostolic Assembly have a disclaimer for those they help that states they should ignore the laws of the US?
That's what you're saying this man should do ... ignore the law and help people who break the law?

Since your Irish, they might have thought that you were an I.R.A...lol...J/K
But really you say that profiling is not evil, so don't get mad when they single you out. Last time I checked Tim Mcvay was not black..he looked very palefaced to me...He should have gotten a tan...lol..

Naw, my cloths were too clean and new. I still think back (not because I felt 'violated' in any manner shape or form) and marvel at all the non-Muslim terrorists who have targeted planes during the past decade and wonder they thought I fit into that group..... Oh wait, WHAT "non-Muslim plane targeting" group?
Oh well, I am sure there will be a some police officers in AZ who are so incensed with the new law that they will make a point of pulling every pasty white grandmother over with NO evidence of illegal status and running them through the ringer while letting every barely English speaking speeder or traffic light runner off the hook just so as to not "profile".

Oh no, i wasn't "angry" at all but had they (department of homeland security) used some common sense profiling, then you would think you would go after someone more likely to actually be a perpetrator, especially if your only going to search one or two people on the flight.

I am sure if I started with my fake Irish accent more then a few camera's would have suddenly trained on me. LOL Besides I believe the IRA's violence is so focused that they are pretty low on the terror watch list as far as threats against the "America, the Great Satan".

"As far as the Legislator goes, I don't see where he's being a hypocrite"
You're are 100% right...he voted the way his constitutes wanted him to vote, I agree..then he should, this Sunday bring in ICE and call out all the illegals in his church...if he doesn't, he is a hypocrite...you can agree with me there I'm sure..

Wouldn't he be obligated to report illegals in his congregation being a rep. from the state.Yes he knows who's who in the congregation. He said on the t.v. that they all should go back speaking of the illegals. The apostolic assembly has illegals in every one of its churches.
