I used to love pecan pie. Ate it every chance I got. Trouble was, they served it almost every day at the cafeteria. So I eventually got sick of it. Hated it! After a long break, I started eating it again, and liking it. Now, I still like it, but I only eat it in moderation!

I usually only get Pecan pie once a year on my birthday, I like it better than cake.

I prefer petit fours without filling myself. The youth will too.

PO there is a petit four icing you can buy in a bag. You just work it in your hands and then cut the tube like bag and pour over icing. Has a great flavor. It is sweet as petit fours are suppose to be.
I also bought a Wilton petit four cake pan. You will need to fill the squares fairly full or your lose the corners.
Petit Fours is one of my very favorite cakes.
As to my favorite pies:
Cream - coconut and chocolate
Fruit - peach when hot or some apple (don't like tart apples)
others: Lemon Ice Box, lemon or key lime pie and pecan
I like pie better than cakes.

A pastry cutter works great for mixing the Crisco and flour. I also use my pastry cutter to cut up eggs when I make egg salad.

I'll probably do a homemade mix. I'd be afraid to chance a pre-made icing.

I didn't see a petit four pan on their website, but I do have two Wilton pans - 11x15x2 and a 12x18x2. Those would be sufficient to cut the cakes into small squares.

I have a pastry cutter. I think I just can't roll it out thin enough.
Plus I like a sweeter taste than homemade usually is.

It is perfect.

I found mine at Walmart. It is a heavy pan, I'll warn you in advance on that.
Good luck.
