Evan Bayh, D-IN is retiring! Announcement just in ... His staff claims it's not due to possibility of being defeated in the coming election, but due instead to Congress being overly-partisan.
Could this be another GOP Senate seat pickup?
I heard on the news, some poll is out (I'm looking to find a source) saying that 31% of respondents stated they will vote out the incumbent Representative/Senator in favor of someone new.
Source found (a Pew poll, can be found here and other places)
McCain's doing his usual election year swing to the right. He's got a lot of backers, including Sarah Palin, Scott Brown, fellow AZ Republican Congressmen and a host of others.
JD Hayworth has a tough sell to beat McCain. I wouldn't say he can't do it, certainly the anti-incumbent climate is prime for McCain to lose.
But Hayworth has to give reasons more than "tough on immigration" and "more republican/more conservative" than McCain to get my vote.
Thus far it's a toss-up. I favor McCain over Hayworth, though I'm leaning towards not voting on this seat. I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket in '08, which was hard to do ... but I haven't voted for McCain at all for Senate.
...
BTW, off topic, but did anyone see Sen Chris Dodd stated that BHO will be re-elected overwhelmingly.
i would expect BHO to be re-elected.
Now that ACORN has successfully delivered the vote to him,
with their organizational structure in place,
and with heavy government support and sponsorship,
I would imagine they will control future election results
unless they are arrested, killed, or disbanded some way or another.
Any attempt to try to limit ACORN's power is politically incorrect and is considered racism.

McCain is a rino. I had to hold my nose to vote for him in the presidential election, as I certainly did not vote for him in the primary.

If I as a staunch conservative wanted to really mess with my oposition, I would probably become a democratic in the same way the JM is a republican. I would play to the base yet make casual comments now and again for the express purpose of sabotaging the party I SAY I belong too. How many of those who voted for JM really voted for him and not against Barrack Hussein? I for one sure didn't vote FOR him.
