I think that animals, TOO, get bored, LOL!
just like real family mbrs, such as siblings, they will get so bored
that they 'test' each other for excitement or whatever.
Its that they WATCH US HUMANS, how we interract and copy us
believe it or not., a 'whack' btwnst fellow "pets" is normal and
shows LOVE, (sorta).
My husband is superduper the Dr.Doolittle type all animals LOVE him
and come to him., and don't fear him., and he talks with them., he
often has me in stitches re-enacting how they act and adding words
or dialogue to them, its always good for a quick laugh., and laughter
helps sooo much!!
I have learned more patience with animals from him, GOD is good to
supply ALL of our needs!

Re: Is this cat brave or nuts?

The cat was being a cat. Not protecting it's humans as implied.

Sheesh.
